It's pretty frustrating that these just started shipping, yet the price has already dropped by $50, which makes no sense considering they're marked as "Unavailable."

Quote: It's pretty frustrating that these just started shipping, yet the price has already dropped by $50 Yeah that's just how this game is played. If the price went up $50, we wouldn't be complaining, they wouldn't be raising the price on us, and we'd be happy as a clam. Roughly a week to ship isn't terrible. At least not on backorder with an August ship date (sound familiar?)

They could drop the price down to $1 as they have no intention of selling any more and no one can buy it for $1. Did you every buy a scratch off lottery ticket with a $50,000 prize? And you scratch it off and you see $50,000 but not one of the winning numbers and get excited and say "I almost won $50K"? They could put $50,000 on all 6 chances as they NEVER had any intention of letting you win.

I got mine today, and it's pretty interesting. Compared to the 2006 Burnished version, only someone familiar with the different finishes would notice the difference.

Glad you got yours Boba Debt, thanks for posting pics. It looks great. I don't see any defects. It looks like a reverse proof except the shiny areas aren't as shiny as a reverse proof in my opinion. I'm still waiting for mine.....hoping it ships soon and the billing issues I had don't hold things up. A side by side comparison to the 2006 reverse proof would be fun to see. Lighting makes a big difference but here's an ebay pic of a 2006. It's final mintage was 9,996 I think.

Boba Debt, so you have both, nice! I don't see a lot of difference in the shine between the two.

GF - You won't be disappointed; it's an amazing coin, and the type 2 reverse really pops with this finish.

The matte field of the 2026 is less granular, but the main difference lies in the devices and portraits.
The 2006 has a true proof finish, while the 2026 is better than a business strike but doesn't come close to the level of a proof.

So in hand the differences are obvious.

Yes, the differences are not easy to capture with digiltal images
