Another one to post in this catch up Pius VI 1796 Muraiola of 4 Bolognini from the Bologna mint. The reverse here shows Saint Petronius blessing the city on his right, holding pastoral.

That's a nice run, Bacchus2. Thanks for those great contributions!
On the 1744 quattrino, the figure of Saint Ubaldus (EPS S VBAL) identifies the coin to Gubbio (probably you have it attributed that way).
I don;t think I've ever seen that type with the lily. Once again, a Bologna type where the papal reference is very toned down compard to the city symbols. And what you point out about the allegory of holy mother church is very interesting. I wonder why that imagery displaced the Saints Peter & Paul imagery (or at least got a bigger share of the coins)?

Quote: I wonder why that imagery displaced the Saints Peter & Paul imagery (or at least got a bigger share of the coins)? That's a good question. It may just be the whims of fashion that presumably even penetrate the inner sanctums of the decision makers here. A recent pickup was this on of Clement XII. It's a 1736 1 Grosso with a "food for the poor" message on the reverse. I only noticed afterwards but of the short date run this one seems to be the scarcest.

This is a recent pickup that I've spend some time in identifying. I think it's Alexander VII, Comtat Venaissin, 1655-1667 Patard (4 Deniers). Although worn the lettering from about 3 o'clock to 8 o'clock on the obverse seems to be "ANDER VII" making it ALEXANDER VII PONT (M?) with S PETRVS ET PAVLVS AVEN on the reverse There is no example on Numista, but it's KM86 in my Krause.

A new coin for me - and a new Pope ticked off the list - Innocent XIII This appears to be a Gubbio Quattrino. The obverse legend is fairly clear with INNOC XIII, the obverse design, though worn, is the heraldic achievement for Innocent XIII and the reverse legend is SANCTUS SALDVS. However I can't seem to locate a reference for it. It's not on Numista and not listed in Krause either - that I can see. Grateful for any advice on a reference.
