I am a novice coin collector and found this gem of an error in my pocket change. I can't seem to find anything similar in this year and denomination. What should I do? Should I send it in to get graded?

Your coin was damaged by heat. It's not an error coin. PMD. Not worth slabbing. https://www.pcgs.com/news/the-two-t...-error-coins

I'm sorry to say that is not an error but a badly damaged coin. It did not leave the mint like this.

Value is 10 cents and absolutely not worthy of the cost of grading.

Sometimes called a "Campfire Coin" as the damage was caused by heat.

Not that it matters, but it's a Philadelphia strike from 1987, not 1967.

Title fixed. If you click on the hotlink "report this post to staff" (as someone else did) then we can fix these right away. If you mention it here as a reply in the thread then we don't always catch it. Thx.
