The spiral on the dollar bill works great as one of the bulldog's eyes.

I really like the shirts with ties. On Friday last week I was in DC and visited the numismatic collection at the National Museum of American History. Was a bit surprised to a selection of origami notes and thought of you Joshu-a so I snapped this photo: I don't know what to call that pointed shape on the right, but it's huge and made from US $1 bills. Way cool. edit - you can see a shirt with tie bottom row center. Just like yours.

Thank you for posting that! I completely forgot about that part of the display from my visit in 2023.

That's really something nickelsearcher! The big one on the right is known as an origami tetrahedron. 'Origami' by definition is one uncut piece of paper. More than one paper is known as Kirigami. I'll be posting the origami elephant and change of heart soon as well. I tried making a hobo nickel once; I'll post that sometime soon.

jbuck photo captures the entire display at the Smithsonian. Thank you for that addition. Enjoying your creations joshu-a - please keep them coming. Quote: The big one on the right is known as an origami tetrahedron. 'Origami' by definition is one uncut piece of paper. More than one paper is known as Kirigami. There is no way that tetrahedron was made with only one piece of paper - so it must be a Kirigami as you define above. I know nothing about this art form - but am enjoying viewing your lovely work. Please show more.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

Quote: 'Origami' by definition Yes, the tetrahedron is kirigami. Colloquially, people use the word origami, which is acceptable in my opinion.

Elephants. The best feature is the all seeing eye on the front elephant.

"change of heart" It is called that because you can slide a quarter into the middle.
