I am shopping for world coins from international sellers as quickly as I can... I hope they arrive before August 29th.

There are so many laws suits pending over illegal Executive Orders and Tariffs it could take forever to figure it all out . In the meantime I will carry on business as usual. Believe it when it is actually in place

Quote: Perhaps even prod them to attempt to "tariff-proof" this hobby. I always see this as a problem. Every special interest group trying to carve out an exemption from some law for their little group. Soon you don't have a law, you have a list of exemptions. If you have a LAW it needs to apply to everyone, or you have people who are "above the law." Like anyone else there can be times when a law inconveniences me or bites me in the wallet, but if I know it affects everyone else I find it more tolerable. But if it affects ME and others are subject to it, THAT burns me. I don't like exceptions.

Quote: De Minimis exemption revoked by Trump for ALL COUNTRIES as of August 29th. Bad news for those of us who buy from abroad. So we are back to the first post where a U.S. auction house pointed out their competitive advantage... no exceptions. We're looking at buying a new house, so a little enforced spending discipline is not a bad thing.

The legality of these tariffs is being argued in court. It seems that President Trump is improperly using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act as justification for them. If they are struck down, I'd like to get back the extra money I've paid for coffee!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Deutschland. The Tea is English. Olives are Greek. Oh, and my preferred "not from concentrate" OJ is a product of Brazil. I am sure the brand will switch to Florida OJ, which is, IMHO, an inferior product.

I prefer cranberry juice with a splash of grapefruit juice.

I do like cranberry juice, but grapefruit is neither grape nor a fruit.

I hope you realize I was joking. Gary Gulman has a great bit about grapes versus grapefruit.
