Found thus and it is all copper. Weighs 5 grams. Should coins be washed? Is there a safe way to clean?

This nickel is made of 75% copper and 25% nickel, not clad. I'm thinking your nickel is just showing environmental damage. Weight is normal too.

I agree with Errers and Marve - just environmental damage. Looks like it was buried for a while.
