1865 3c Detecting Find, Sent To PCGS

13205150 New Member United States 30 Posts	Posted 04/08/2025 8:14 pm My son found this coin using a Tesoro Sidewinder a few years ago, location was an 1850's home site, located on Main Street in a small Kentucky town. It looked amazing for a dug coin. The soil in the area is very kind to coins, I had previously found 2 1917 Standing Liberty quarters there, they looked great too. Fast forward a few years, I took a look at it under the scope and noticed it's an FS-101 variety as well as having a light obverse die clash. It had some light scratches on the obverse but nothing horrible so, I sent it off to PCGS hoping for the best The grade came back as Genuine Cleaned XF details and I was very happy with that!
