David Lawrence Rare Coins - Rare First Year Proof Morgan. A scarce first-year proof Morgan dollar, with just 500 proofs struck across all 1878 varieties. Cameo examples of the 8TF are especially desirable, with no DCAMs known. This PR64CAM displays strong contrast between frosted devices and mirrored fields, with a pleasing light sienna tone that deepens at the rims. The strike is sharp, and the eye appeal is strong for the grade. Rarely offered, with limited recent auction appearances, this is a compelling opportunity for collectors. https://davidlawrence.com/auctions/lot/889545
Definitely a beaut! I'd say this is most likely a VAM-14.3 which exists in both circulation and proof strikes as far as I can see. Start bid is $15,000....
Beautiful coin but for DLRC I only do their "no reserve" auctions because when they set a starting bid for reserve ones it's usually just a retail price not an actual auction. $15k seems a bit steep for a proof Morgan.
