cptbilly Pillar of the Community United States 1965 Posts	Posted 08/25/2025 2:54 pm Here's a side x side glance at the Laser Privy with a 2025-W Proof received earlier this year: When I evaluate an ASE, I look for definition in the skirt pleats and the sandal straps. Below are close-ups of those details, using the coins shown above, with the Laser PM on the Left: I'm not sure the laser-engraved product is a notable upgrade. I'm sure there will be degrees of difference from one strike to another (as always). If you look at the reverse images above, the prominence of the neck feathers where they meet the breast is crisper on the older version. What are you seeing when you do your own comparisons ? The only drawback with mine is I can't quite get a full silver dollar picture very well. Gilly Pillar of the Community United States 1221 Posts	Posted 08/25/2025 9:17 pm Hopefully I don't have to edit the pics! My Laser Privy looks fine. In the pics you may see some lint. I did pop the case open because I thought I had a flaw, but it was on the inside of the case. The privy itself, the one thing I noted is the inside of the inner circle has sort of a rough texture, almost cratered-looking. I'll have to compare more, but to me the laser proof does seem to have a bit more detail. I haven't tried comparing yet to a real back date. I just decided to compare to a 2025W proof (pre-laser engraved, from January). Pics are labeled EAL for the laser engraved and EA for the normal. Close up of the privy, you can kind of see the texturing I'm talking about. Note totally different sleeve design for this issue. Edited by Gilly 08/25/2025 9:18 pm Report this Post to the Staff

I figured the 2025W would be a fair comparison coin. I think in some areas it looks a little crisper. Other areas seen the same. If any worse, it's not by much. In general I'd say an improvement. I think if they could hold the coin inside the box with some non fluffy material, they could have the fancy fuzzy outer box.
