What is it with chickens and roads anyway. With so many chickens coming home to roost there may be no room left on roads to cross them. Chickens will be several yards deep if the all come home.

Potatoes will trade at a steep premium.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

How is that even a word I would type.

Autocourgette is a not your friend sometimes.

True story: a few years ago I was texting a client we'd done just a couple days' building work for that we were "done and dusted". I didn't know her prior to doing the work and only saw her twice and briefly, so I didn't have a rapport with her, certainly not enough for autocorvette to decide what I really meant was "done and fisted". Like, why is that even in my phone's dictionary?!? Fortunately,in another life I worked as a proof reader and corrected it before I hit send.

Would be on a phone, but not on my laptop.

I will read something I wrote five times and see what I want to see. I read it again in five hours to see the mistake(s) I made.

Battered coins generally fall into the post-strike damage category...

Maybe you're thinking of the waffling machine at the mint?

Good idea on proof reading, taking a break and coming back to it. Another trick I use is to proof from the end of the document to the beginning. I read sentence by sentence, but start with the last sentence, then the penultimate sentence, and so on. That helps break the brain of inserting missing words. It's not perfect, but it helps.

I knew that would come up!

I am going to have to try that!

Another solution to the 'penny problem' that I have not seen posted here before:

Seems like a good idea to me; especially a win for those with jars of zincolns sitting around, with no easy way to count them.

The relevant part, in case someone doesn't want to click the link to that site:

Quote:
This may sound ridiculous, but I'm serious: Instead of making brand-new pennies, what if the government simply bought back some of the 114 billion pennies already floating around in drawers, jars, and couch cushions across America?

Think about it. The vast majority of those pennies aren't being used in everyday transactions, or even every year transactions. They're collecting dust. But what if the government offered, say, 1.5 cents for every penny returned? That's "more than the coin is worth"—so people would have an incentive to dig them out—and it's still far cheaper than making new ones.
