I've found a few modern commemorative half dollars while CRH, but this is something I never expected to find! It was the only silver coin in a box of Loomis-rolled half dollars that I purchased today. Pre-1955 commemorative half dollars were not issued for general circulation -- so perhaps the previous owner of this coin did not recognize its value.

Have other CRHs found "old" silver commemorative coins while pursuing this hobby?

I am sure there are more than a few in the Monster Half Dollar topic.

Here is one list in a topic I found...

I was lucky to find a few Franklins in my day, but never a classic commemorative.

Nice find in any case!

Been a few years since I did much CRH in the US, but I feel like I might have found one commemorative about 20-25 years ago. My best haul ever was in several rolls I got from one bank. There were a couple of walkers, a few Franklin's and about ten Kennedys in two or three rolls. Couldn't believe my eyes when they slid out of the paper.
