I bought a lightly used Dansco 7140 from someone on the forum a few years back. I ended up getting most of the silver dates in a couple of old folders below spot from a local auction. Some of them were in rough shape so I did some upgrades and found reasonably priced 1932-D & S on ebay. I then CRH for the clad and made some trades with someone on the forum for the ones that proved hard to find.

I attempted Mercury dimes as well. Just need 4. Never will own a 1916-D or the two semi-keys. For some reason I never found a 1931 S one.

I'm closer to a full set of these, than I am to Washington quarters.
I just need the 1916-D, 1921-D & 1931-S.

I just need the 1916-D for mine. Buying the 1921 and 1921-D pair seems easy in hindsight. That was over eight years ago now. Cannot believe I have been sitting on one hole that long.

I'd say a reason people don't collect this issue is because outside of a few key dates, there's not much interesting about it.

I find them exceedingly interesting but that's just me. One think I find interesting that nobody ever talks about is why in the world there are almost no nice attractive 1969 coins in any condition at all and nobody even notices it. These coins were made so poorly that most looked like garbage coming off of the dies and fifty years of getting beaten up in circulation and melted with scrap cars has not improved them in the least. Even mint set coins looked like roadkill back in 1969 and most of these are gone now and most of the rest are tarnished. People believe these are common so they don't collect them in any condition. And, of course, many find them uninteresting as well.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
