uruman Pillar of the Community United States 5193 Posts	Posted 07/18/2025 10:09 pm Sharing one that I just found a 1981d nickel rpm-001 , going through some nickels rolled that a friend of mine from Simonton TX gave me today and he said that an old lady paid him (He's a mechanic) with some old rolls of coins ( all denominations , worth about $110 dollars ) , same friend that about 10 years ago was paid with silver coins another job , again all denomination of silver coins , and he sold all of them to me for 1/2 the silver value , I think I posted that here of that find and some of the coins in that lot . http://www.varietyvista.com/05%20JN...Author%20%7C Edited by uruman 07/18/2025 10:17 pm Report this Post to the Staff

Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6548 Posts	Posted 07/21/2025 12:02 pm When I look at the Variety Vista listing, it almost looks like the weakly punched D bends back in on itself. More like a P than a D. But I don't know how that could possibly happen, since Denver was probably making its own nickel dies at that point, and not receiving anything from Philly. I agree that it is worthy of a Best of JN RPM at Wexler, and possibly a Fivaz-Stanton classification. Although goodness knows the next time they will publish an updated CPG for the smallest denominations, since they just published one recently. Will you send to Wexler for listing on their site?
