For example if I have a 1960 D penny, I would like to look up 1960 D Penny and see the different errors associated with it, with a picture. Is there a book like this and/or website?
The short answer is no. The errors and varieties aspect of coin collecting is divided into silos by taxonomy. It isn't organized around the hunt. The information exists as catalogs and individual articles.
For example, when I searched my friend's Ike hoard for varieties, the very first thing I had to do was cobble together a hunt list from Wexler, Variety Vista, Ike Group,
Cuds on Coins, MAD Die Clashes, and so forth. My hunt list was organized by year-mintmark.
If you have a specific year-mintmark-denomination in mind, then you can post your initial hunt list for that year. The folks here are extremely helpful in filling in many obscure errors and varieties that you might never have otherwise learned about.
