I have been toying with the idea of trying to do some kind of Washington quarter series. Not the commemorative state, national park or women's quarters, but just the standard ones issued before 1999. I was considering doing an all clad quarter album, including clad proofs and varieties. If I wanted to do this via Dansco, this would require basically a custom album. The only problem is... Their blank quarter album, which consists of four blank pages, isn't being produced right now. It also can't be found on ebay, and I can't find any blank quarter pages available either. I even tried looking at the MM pages that Dansco also makes, and they aren't available, either! At least not the ones that quarters would fit into. I know Whitman makes a blank quarter album. But yeah.... Not really the best quality, especially if you are constantly moving things around. I'd love to just be able to use a blank Dansco binder, and add the ages accordingly except for, obviously, I can't. Lol. The blank Dansco album is #7137. Sheesh. How frustrating! Any advice? Here's an oddball album I found on line that's pretty cool. This looks like an album Dansco used to make, but the user added more custom thing to it.

Try emailing Collector's Corner to see if they have what you're looking for. They have been the only source for blank quarter pages that I could find and are nice to do business with. That definitely looks like a custom album.

If you are constantly moving things around, wouldn't a capsule album work way better?

Their flexibility is an advantage.
However, the albums are huge. The cost of capsules, pages, and binders are way more expensive than Dansco.

Yes. jbuck nailed it. Crazily enough, Whitman actually also has an album line called "prestige," or something like that which has an album for clad quarters from 1965-1998 I believe. https://whitman.com/whitman-prestig...k-set-black/Pretty expensive, though. However, they do also have blank quarter albums available, unlike Dansco at the present time. I would be interested in potentially starting a set that has all clad quarters from 65-98, and possibly including clad proof quarters as well.

Yes. I wish it wasn't as costly. Recently, as some may have noticed, I had ordered a Dansco album for Washington quarters 1932-1998 including proofs. Well.... I think attempting this was a bit unrealistic! I opted to send it back. I was going over some of the math of what it would cost alone just to fill up the album with the silver quarters from 1932-1965... Yeah, it's at least 700 dollars. What I would like to do though is basically a set eventually like this. I can actually find several of the labeled pages from ebay out of the Dansco 8140 album. I figured I can use the later pages, and then possibly just add some random blank pages to the beginning of the album, so that way I can start at 1965 with both circulated and SMS coins. I can actually find pages 5, 6, 7, and 8. Page 5 starts at 1971-D. I think I would add some of the silver proofs including the bicentennial, since there isn't actually that many. Oh, and because I also already have some. Lol. I thought about starting it in a 2x2 album however, since ordering all these pages together are gonna be quite costly! I really don't like using 2x2's though, but it is what it is.

Yikes! I guess they have gone up a lot. That run cost me around $200, but I finished the set in 1997. Quote: What I would like to do though is basically a set eventually like this... Interesting. Personally, I think you should have kept the 8140 and pursued it as a long(er) term project. But in the end you have to enjoy what you are doing and I do admire your creativity!

I would have kept it too just in case you decide at a later point to get a few here and there of the silver coins or at least you could have taken some of the pages out. Buying back 4 of the pages that were in the book will cost close to what the book was originally. I myself don't mind looking at open holes, gives me something to look forward to filling but ultimately it's whatever and however you want to collect. I think if the blank pages were available you wouldn't even have to be thinking about it, you'd just get the blanks and fill them however you wish. Seems like with any album there is always something lacking or something added that does not fit our collecting desire

There are still quite a few of the old blank denominational National Coin / Wayte Raymond albums out there. Many local dealers have a stack from collections they buy, and it's possible to make good deals on them. The blank quarter albums are fairly common. If you go that route, change out the plastic sleeves. The added benefit is that those albums are good for (or maybe notorious for) toning the coins over time with an even golden tone.

Quote: Yikes! I guess they have gone up a lot. That run cost me around $200, but I finished the set in 1997. Yeah, definitely a lot more. They cost usually in the ballpark now of 8-15 dollars per coin it seems, depending on the grade and year obviously. The 1932 key date coins cost considerably more obviously. I think I got incredibly lucky recently and came across a seller on ebay who had a listing for a lot of basically ALL of the Washington clad proof quarters until 1998, and housed in a dansco 7137 album, which is the rare blank quarter album. So album itself along with like 36 clad proof Washington quarters. It was like around 50 bucks. I jumped on that. It normally costs that much for just a Dansco album alone!

Me, too! Will definitely do. I am excited to be able to organize a Washington quarter set in my own special Dansco album the way I want to.

When I cannot find a page that I need, I'll get one close and just erase the existing print and re-label
