I thought you would all like to see my latest monstrous
acquisition.
This is a coin I bought as I was very curious as to how this could happen now I know.
Double obverse Queen Victoria, (one obverse really badly pitted and cant read the date,)has been melded to another ( badly) , but the other 1844 is inverted and clear as day.

I think I may have it wrong, is it possible for someone to actually cut away the reverse without leaving a mark and the obverse is the same just inverted!!, but the real obverse is in terrible condition here is a closer look, would appreciate any opinions on this. It also weighs 22.8grams instead of 18.8

I seriously wonder if it's some kind of test striking. Have you figured out what it's made of?

Perhaps a vice-job on the reverse of the original coin (heated)? .

I think it is copper, but I wouldn't know how to check, but it feels heavy like copper and the toning indicates copper

Sharks I do think it has been melted or softened (copper is a soft metal ) at some point to get the edges that way, its just so crudely done,January1may, I do consider it a possibility, but again so crudely done, thanks for your comments guys maybe I should send it to The Royal Mint, they will check and see if its from them for £20

Not my field at all, but could it be some form of brockage?

I showed it to my coin dealer and he is under the impression that a penny was impressed into a medal of some sort , and hence the reverse image and why its so heavy, it could very well be, you never know
