So far, 1001 has been commanding a higher price than the other 2000-W's. Is there something that I'm missing or do you think that's just an oddity of the preliminary bidding?

Any final price estimates? 1001 already up to 100k!

1001 - 1007 bids from 95K to 120K, while 1008 languishes at 52.5K.

With that kind of money they are bidding, I would contact Space-X here in Arizona and pay to go to space myself - AND bring my own coins up with me.. (then I could sell some off to pay for the trip. )

The fact that they flew on a space shuttle is cool, but I don't think that it will add significant amount to the final prices. The prices are about the extreme rarity.

You're correct. I'm just going with my gut based on understanding how most of us think. If these were just seven of the many 2000-S proofs, then the prices would be entirely based upon the space flown pedigree. However, they're extremely rare regardless of where each coin has been. If the bidders are almost entirely coin collectors and the winners are all coin collectors, then I think it's pretty safe to say that the space flown aspect isn't very consequential. However, if a winner ends up being space object collector, then the price will have definitely been impacted. We'll see...
