Wow, this thread has been wonderfully added to by many kind folks. I wish I had an item to add but worry like some of the posters that my items just doesn't quite click into Art Deco. On behalf of what I am learning, I think a quick thank you and a request for more sharing is in order as would help extend the thread.

So, thank you.

The medallions are especially great, I am aware of the Century of Progress one as the 1933 and 1939 world's fairs are one of my all time favourite historical subjects (Ask me about my collection of world's fair items), but had not seen the second one. The Weimar Germany 10 pfenig design is Expressionist with Art Deco elements. Expressionism was one of many styles included under the retrospective "Art Deco" term with many expressionists, particularily German and Austrian, being considered pioneers of what later became Art Deco. I have 2, a 1935 and 1936. The Bolivia one is most definitely Art Deco. Many South and Central American and Carribean countries quickly adopted Art Deco because the geometric and symmetrical style of it allowed them to adapt their native styles (Inca, Aztec etc) which already had such blocky, geometric elements. I have a thread on StampCommunityForum dedicated to Art Deco stamps in which many Latin American stamps are posted with these features. The font on the Bolivian coin is quite popular amongst Latin American design from the Art Deco period.

Countries that might be worth looking at for Art Deco coin designs include: Netherlands and colonies; The Netherlands had its own style called Amsterdam School, which, like German Expressionism, lead to Art Deco, which was immensely popular in the Netherlands. I believe there are some coin designs from the WW2 period that fit the style, but I do not have any.

France and colonies; The source country of Art Deco. I know of Art Nouveau designs from here, but suspect there may be some Art Deco designs hiding.

Latin America: Art Deco was huge in Latin America. For example, it was the prefered style of Dominican Republic dictator Trujillo.

Italy, Germany, Austria etc.; The Classical and Modern combination of Art Deco appealed to Fascists. Many designs from Fascist regimes can be described as Art Deco (or other similar styles, such as Futurism in Italy)

I have a nice Yugoslavian coin design that may fit the Art Deco style, although with it being an earlier Communist coin, it is definitely Constructivist (once again, another style that influenced Art Deco)

One of my favourite Art Deco medallions is the one designed by Norman Bel Geddes for GM. I will never have one, unfortunately. Also, there were many medallions and tokens made for the 1933 and 1939 world's fairs all in very beautiful art deco style, so if anybody has more of those, please share!

I never thought of that one (which I have). I think the iron curtain symbolism (grains, machinery) lent itself well to Art Deco ideals.

Some others to varying extents I suppose:

And what about Art Deco influences on Ireland's first coin series?

Ireland's first coins from 1928 depict animals that were important to Irish people at the time, with an Irish harp on the reverse (the only feature still present on modern Irish coins, as well as all Irish coins since 1928). There is no Art Deco in their design. The later decimal coins from 1971 had several Celtic designs.

The 10 Francs one is definitely art deco. It reminds me a lot of designs from the 1925 Paris exhibition. The coins from Vichy France from 1941-1944 could also be described has having Art Deco elements, and potentially the early Liberated France coins.

I found this one, which is fantastically Art Deco.

Nico De Haas, Dutch National Socialist and member of the NSB, designed the Netherlands coins during WW2 and they have several Art Deco elements. The 2 and 1/2 cent design is very similar to a stamp from the same period.

I am not sure what or where this Metro token is from, but it feels like it could have come out of Bioshock.
