Jeez - gold at $5415. I have 2 St Gaudens I bought years ago for $500 apiece but this is getting tempting to hold on to them!

Silver in Australia would have hit an all time high today, if the USD hadn't dropped 3c in the last few days.

I think I became a silver stacker rather than a collector because my Morgans have more melt value than collector for the common dates. I might consider selling them and buying a really nice collectable coin or two. How can you liquidate 300 - 400 Morgans easily?

A shocker for me to see gold jumped nearly $200 in a day.

Wow! I went out for dinner and when I got back I found that silver had skipped $118 entirely and jumped right to $119:

$120, here we come!

[Edit: Yeah, what macmercury said!]

Well, since you are interested in buying some really nice collectable coins, I suggest bringing your Morgans to a local coin show where you are likely to find both dealers willing to pay you spot silver for them and dealers with coins you want. You might even find one dealer who is willing to do a trade.

This is what I did in July when silver was just approaching $40. I sold a couple of bags of silver Mercury and Roosevelt dimes to a dealer and purchased a really nice 1923 Peace dollar graded MS-66 with most of the proceeds.

Good luck!

Man, I swear I saw silver briefly hit $119.95 at APMEX before falling back a bit to $118+. So close...

But then you'll regret it when Gold hits $10,000.

The same way I regret selling my 1898-S and 2003 $5 Gold eagles back when Gold hit $2100

This is but just ONE of the reasons people are flocking to Gold and Silver in the U.S., a big reason at that.

The U.S. dollar has been dropping significantly since mid-2025, but nothing to see here right?

The expression that we're "whistling past the graveyard" is one that comes to mind.

News is out about the Whale that opened a $36 million short position on Silver.

That whale just recently closed their Silver short position for a $4.7 million LOSS.

Today must have been a very painful day for him.

Apparently there are still people that think this is like 2008 or 2011, and they're finding out the hard way that this time it's different.

Speculation is fun, but unless you are the literal man behind the curtain, I don't know how you know. It will be what it will be, I guess.... It has been fun watching this though.

I am buying Morgans and Peace mainly for silver, but am getting a few really nice ones near melt.

Go to a coin dealer that sells coins and bullion and trade silver value for the prime coins you want. Why interject paper currency into the transaction. Personally, I would just keep them unless I really wanted something collectable, but that is me.
