Hello everybody,

I am new at this forum and this is my first post, I hope it's the right topic.
Recently I found this silver coin, I am pretty sure it is a silver cob but I can not place it in which period and region it's produced.
All information is more then welcome.

Best regards.

Based on your photos, I think it is more likely a coin of the "Spanish Netherlands," or possibly another Spanish possession.
The first photo is not typical of a Spanish coin, and in the second photo we can see a crowned "vuurijzer" to the left of the coat of arms which is typical of Low Countries coins under Habsburg rule.
I think the coat of arms could be consistent with Philip IV or Charles II.

Please give us the size and weight and we may be able to help.

Thanks for the reply, I found out that it is indeed a Philip IV coin.

To be precise: Comte de Bourgogne. Philippe IV (1621-1665). 2 (=1/16 patagon)

Glad we could help.

Some more information ...
The denomination is 3 stuivers (i.e. Comte de Bourgogne was still in the monetary system of Spanish Netherlands), and the catalog reference is Gelder & Hoc 334-8, struck from 1622-1627 (no legible date on yours).
