The one that I traded was an ex-jewelry piece. They gave me $106.75 face in 90%.

They even tossed in some rolls of Silver Proof 1992-2003 dimes, quarters, and halves. They consider these as just junk silver now.

When metals prices rise high, numismatic coins go to the melting pot.
It will be interesting to see what coins are rare in the years to come, since we have no idea what has been melted and continues to.

Yes, I know. But I do not have to like it!

If only this gold price fall continues for a full week I think good coins will be sold in panic selling. Keeping an hopeful eye on local dealers. But I am not seeing any yet.

Price smashes like this are to flush out the metal from weak hands. I'm sure many of the late commers are in panic mode right now. Play the ratios right now, the advantage is still to swap gold for silver at 84:1.

I agree with IGE. I've found with investments you need to allow for time. Over time, things move from the lower left to the upper right. Holds for PMs, stocks, etc (not beany babies ).

Traded some gold yesterday for 140oz in .999 bars and 103.75 face 90%. Gold-Silver ratio is still coming down 79.7:1 this morning. Makes yesterdays trade a small win for me.

The GSR today is down to 78.2:1. Earlier this year it was over 100:1. It shows that silver is moving higher much faster than gold.

GSR below 74:1 today. Headed to the LCS to do one more swap of gold for silver before it's too late. December is a delivery month for COMEX, and they don't have enough silver. Who knows how this will play out.
