As usual there are plenty of single coins and full rolls already for sale on ebay BEFORE the official release tomorrow. Some vendors even have multiple rolls for sale with the auction ending within hours. It begs the question, how do these sellers get early access to these releases? Perhaps they are sellers that are RAM authorised retailers who trade under a different name on ebay? Who else has early and guaranteed access to these coins?

Why does the RAM keep letting it happen?

Just had a look at sold lots on ebay and there were sales as early as mid-October! Who has access to any coins so early? And why doesn't the RAM care? Sort of makes the ballots a bit of a joke.

I think it's the RAM providing dealers with coins and rolls and allowing them to sell on ebay using bogus names. How else can so many
coins be sold so often at each release before the official release date?

Sally, I think the keyword is PRESALE. It's not illegal if the seller has this word in the title and ships the item(s) within 30 days.

Still not right IMO.

I agree. These are being pre-sold before they have their shills flood the RCM with orders.

One of my coin dealers sends me an invoice prior to release day sometimes.
I expressed my interest in the Bluey Christmas coins months before they were for sale and also the Poppy wreath coins.
No invoice for the Bluey Christmas coins but I got invoiced for the Poppy wreath coins.
After the release of the Bluey coins the dealer had a Silver Bluey coin on ebay for auction which sold for $485
I bid on it for fun and was sent a 'Second Chance Offer' after the auction for $475, I declined.
I am still grateful for invoicing me some of the new releases but it stings to see them hold on to their allocated share, to rape collectors they shunned later on ebay.
New Tooth Fairy design coming and 125 years of Federation 25cent coins too.
Happy collecting everyone

I checked a few of those ebay ads again and there were quite a few (from dealers presumably because they had so many to sell) that did NOT include any mention of "presale". So much for ethical conduct by dealers it seems?

Funny how it goes. A "C" mintmark coin sold on ebay for just over $120 even though there are plenty of others for sale around the $50 mark. I wonder why people lose it like that? Artificially inflated prices like that skew the market. That can only benefit the dealers and to the novices out there, might make those coins seem like a good investment if they can buy one for $50. I really doubt that even $50 is good value - I am certain that $120 is a waste of $. I will watch with interest. Am I missing something?
