Interesting idea, I would never use it myself, but I'm sure others will flock to it at the beginning. I see so many people online in forums on non coin related forums suggesting to people posting about coins and tier values to send them in right away to be graded and authenticated, doesn't seem to matter if they are all bullion coins or obvious fakes.

Of course a TPG is never wrong.

$2000 for the machine plus an additional cost to scan and grade a coin? Definitely not something I'd use. But others out there?

I know this has nothing to do with the current TPGs so if the Admins want to move the discussion elsewhere here on CCF feel free. I had trouble deciding to post here or in the Main Coin Forum myself.

Interesting. Would be fun to conduct some rigorous, statistically sound tests on the system.

Each contribution of $775, a 61% discount from the projected retail price of $1,995, includes the QCG device and 50 free coin scans.

So I buy this thing yet I have to pay for scanning after 50?

Too expensive for the vast majority of collectors. Sounds like it's heading in the direction "pay for scamming" after the first 50.
Wait and see, a device capable of reliable grading is inevitable and probably sooner than later.

I don't see how a machine can determine something as subtle as "eye appeal".
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

The machine's perception of eye appeal might be no worse than some of us with odd tastes.

So it seems that after the initial outlay, you effectively RENT the machines. Presumably it links to a database somewhere. Any idea what the cost per scan will be after the first 50?

Perhaps the intention is to gather all the thoughtful customer disputes and feed them back into the AI engine to improve the machine over time.

Alternately, they might have a way to harness the tidal wave of customer frustration into some form of carbon-free energy.

Let me know when the big TPG's start laying off their graders in preference to buying these machines!

Nobody owns anything anymore. Everything is becoming "x as a service" to keep money coming in.
