I recently had a look at classic-era United States commemorative coins that feature allegorical design elements - I made a series of brief posts over in the "Post Your...." Galleries area.

I stayed away, IMO, from coins with literal historical symbolism vs. true allegory, but I'll leave it to each to decide how successful I was.

1. 1893 Queen Isabella Quarter
2. 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition Half Dollar
3. 1920 Maine Statehood Centennial
4. 1923 Monroe Doctrine Enunciation Centennial
5. 1925 California Statehood Diamond Jubilee
6. 1926-39 Oregon Trail Memorial
7. 1927 Battle of Bennington/Vermont Independence Sesquicentennial
8. 1928 Hawaiian (European) Discovery Sesquicentennial
9. 1934-38 Texas Independence Centennial
10. 1935 Hudson, NY Sesquicentennial
11. 1935 Connecticut Tercentenary
12. 1935 Old Spanish Trail

There's a dozen+ more in my second Index, check it out here: Index to Coins with Allegorical Designs / Arkansas to BTW Birthplace Memorial

Excellent index. Thank you for sharing.

I don't ever visit the 'Post Your ...' forum so I missed out on the entire discussion.

I'm going to head over there when I have some free time and catch up on @commems comments.

Goodnight! (it's already late in the evening in Russia)

I've read and watched your reviews on the old American cinema 1892-1954!

Very worthy and instructive!

I'd like to ask you a few questions.

I see you collect these coins in PCGS and NGC

I collect this theme myself, I managed to collect all 146 coins, but I don't have them all in PCGS and NGC boxes, but everything is in ANTS condition.

Can you tell me if you have collected all this collection of 146 coins, or only by type (48 coins)?

Sorry for the indiscreet question, if you are not satisfied with my question, then I have no problem, you don't have to answer me.

Thanks! I understand your direction of collecting in this topic!

This collecting theme is also in high demand in Russia!

Although mostly the most common coins from this series come to us.

Rare and expensive are very, very rare and very expensive

I collected my entire collection practically through friends in America, and when I was in the USA with my family in 2012, I also bought a lot of these coins myself in numismatic stores.
