It looks like post mint damage with all the high pints behind sanded off.

Thought that at first too, except for the area between the letters and the rim, would be a tough part to wear directly.

Exactly how it happened doesn't matter, damage is damage.

Just PMD. It was sanded off, exposing the zinc core.

The rim suffered a scrape. The zinc began to oxidize and the copper plating is peeling away from the rim.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
