Thanks jbuck! Quote: The obverse portrays a woman harvesting coffee beans, while the reverse has a dynamic scene of Nyiragongo volcano erupting. I really dig the DRC designs & picked up a few myself. The area has such a conflicted history, it is a small miracle they managed to produce such incredible looking currency. Quote: 1996 France 200 Francs: Fantastic looking note @NumisRob! For 1996 I have this P-99a single-letter prefix $20 from Fiji: The 2nd entry for this year is my only note from Guernsey, this £20 replacement P-58a*

Great entries for 1996, NumisRob and walk2dwater! The reverse designs on all four notes are stellar. My first contribution is a ND (1996) Barbados 5 Dollars P-47. The obverse depicts Sir Frank Worell, a famous cricket player, while the reverse shows Trafalgar Square in Bridgetown, Barbados.

I really enjoy banknotes from Uganda, and I have two examples from 1996. One I've posted before, the 500 Shillings P-35a. The obverse elephant sold me on this uncommon yet inexpensive note. The reverse features the Makerere University Ivory Tower.

The 1996 Uganda 1000 Shillings P-36b focuses on agriculture, with a farmer on the obverse and a grain storage facility on the reverse.

Starting 1995 with a half-dinar note from Jordan: The obverse shows the late King Hussein of Jordan, who came to the throne in 1953 and passed away in 1999. The reverse shows the old Arab palace of Qusayr Amra, which dates from the 8th century AD and has the remains of contemporary frescoes inside. It is one of a number of palaces and fortresses around Amman that are collectively known as the Desert Castles and can be visited as an organised day trip from Amman. This note has been replaced by a seven-sided coin.

Quote: Barbados 5 Dollars P-47. The obverse depicts Sir Frank Worell, a famous cricket player, while the reverse shows Trafalgar Square in Bridgetown, Barbados. I have P-47 from Barbados & always thought that Worell was one of their first PM's! Nice examples from Uganda too CB! Quote: Starting 1995 with a half-dinar note from Jordan: Nice adds @NumisRob! For 1995 I have these two favourites: Gibraltar P-27a £20: The back features Admiral Nelson (the namesake of my high school). Second entry is from P-54b £5 from Cyprus: Anyone else have some notes? -Thanks for following @scopru

Great banknotes, everyone! The reverse of your Gibraltar note is really cool, walk2dwater! I love the naval scene of the HMS Victory. My examples from 1995 are all part of my Tonga type set, featuring King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV. First up, a ND 1 Pa'anga P-31c. The reverse shows a bucolic countryside scene.

The ND (1995) 5 Pa'anga P-33c shows Ha'amonga 'a Maui on the reverse, a 13th century stone trilithon.

Starting 1994... 1994 Costa Rica 500 Colones: The obverse of this note features Manuel Maria Gutierrez, who served with distinction as a Captain in the long-abolished Costa Rican Army, but is best remembered as the composer of that country's National Anthem. The reverse shows the National Theatre in San Jose, the Costa Rican capital. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city and one of the finest theatres in Latin America. This note has now been replaced by a coin.
