Beautiful banknotes as always, you two! What a great personal connection to your French note, Rob, and I love the birds on your Singapore note, walk2dwater! This ND (1976) Argentina 10 Pesos P-300 is one of many common notes from the country with beautiful reverse vignettes. The obverse portrays Manuel Belgrano, one of Argentina's Founding Fathers, while the reverse shows Iguazu Falls, the world's largest waterfall system.

I'd be remiss if I didn't post this classic Series 1976 $2 FRN (Fr. 1935-C) from the Bicentennial. Thomas Jefferson is on the obverse, while John Trumball's famous painting Declaration of Independence is on the reverse, albeit with some adaptations.

Lovely Argentine note, CollegeBarbers! 1975... Burundi 100-Franc note featuring the portrait of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a Burundi prince and politician who was assassinated while serving as the country's Prime Minister in 1961. If this note looks familiar, it's because I posted a very similar one (same design but color changed) for 1982!

My second contribution for 1975 is a Bank of England £10 note. This design was issued on February 20, 1975 and shows Florence Nightingale on the reverse. She has been called the Mother of Modern Nursing: by improving hygiene and care she saved the lives of hundreds of wounded British soldiers during the Crimean War, and during her long life (1820-1910) she revolutionised treatment in hospitals across the UK. She was the first woman other than the Queen to appear on a British banknote. The note has an 'A' prefix and the signature of JB Page, which dates it to early 1975. Notes with this design were withdrawn from circulation in 1994 and replaced by smaller notes depicting Charles Dickens:

Great notes from 1976 & 75 everyone! It is really nice to see such a different spread across the globe each day. It's cool to see you have the older 1975 Burundi 100 Franc Rob & thanks for the history lesson on Florence Nightingale. Banknotes always provide such an interesting canvas to learn from. For 1975, I present this £5 Replacement P-65c* from Ireland: How do we know it is a replacement? The 00K prefix! The back features the River Lagan spirit (according to Numista): https://en.numista.com/230105 Next up is this solid "1" radar from New Zealand $1.00 P-163c The coolest thing about the above example is that I got the "sister" note (C24111110) from a separate blind purchase from Allen's 2 or 3 years later! https://en.numista.com/202557

Great examples, everyone! What a fantastic find on that sister note, walk2dwater. Today is another gap year for me, but I'll be back tomorrow!

A great pair of NZ notes, walk2dwater, and I love the Lady Lavery replacement fiver! 1974... Rhodesia One Dollar: This note was issued by the illegal government of Ian Smith, who made a Unilateral Declaration of Independence leading a white minority government. The reverse shows a field of tobacco. Bulgaria 10 Levs: This very faded note bears the portrait of Georgi Dimitrov on the front and a view of Devnya Chemical Works on the back, with the Communist Party's hammer and sickle symbol. Georgi Dimitrov, who died in 1949, was the first Communist leader of Bulgaria.

Nice examples from 1974 Rob! Love the old note from Bulgaria! Quote: Great examples, everyone! What a fantastic find on that sister note, walk2dwater. Today is another gap year for me, but I'll be back tomorrow Thanks for that CB (it felt incredible receiving the 2nd note years later & thinking that prefix looked familiar). I'm looking forward to your post today! For 1974 I have this Bahamas P-38a $10.00 This note appealed to me mainly due to the scene of flamingos portrayed on the reverse. It was one of my earliest World purchases. https://en.numista.com/223030 Next up, from Ireland this large P-66c £10 According to Numista, the reverse features the River Bann spirit https://en.numista.com/230140

Lovely banknotes, everyone! The color on those flamingos really pops; it's a beautiful design! My only example for today is a ND (1974) Argentina 1 Peso P-293. Like my earlier note from this country, the obverse shows Manuel Belgrano. The reverse has an idyllic lakeside scene with the Llao Llao hotel in the distance.

1973... Canada 1 Dollar: This note features Queen Elizabeth II on the front and Parliament Hill on the reverse, with a log driving scene in the foreground. Switzerland 10 Francs: One of the Fifth Series of Swiss notes, this 10-franc note shows Swiss writer Gottfried Keller on the front. The reverse shows the Wood Avens flower, also known as Herb Bennet, colewort, clove root and St. Benedict's herb! Notes of this design were issued between 1955 and 1977. I saved this one from circulation in 1981, by which time they were already becoming scarce. They were demonetised in the year 2000.

Great banknotes, NumisRob! The log scene on the Canadian dollar is iconic. My only example today is a 1973 Peru 100 Soles de Oro P-102c. The obverse has a portrait of Hipólito Unanue, an important physician, professor, and politician in early Peru. The reverse shows a church where the first National congress was held.

Quote: Nice examples! & The color on those flamingos really pops; it's a beautiful design! Thanks guys! Quote: Argentina 1 Peso P-293. -Nice add CB! And I like the 100 Soles from Peru too. Quote: This note features Queen Elizabeth II on the front and Parliament Hill on the reverse, with a log driving scene in the foreground. That 1973 ONE was the first note I added to start my tiny CAD banknote collection in 1974 (after I took over my brother's paper route). Any time I have visited Ottawa, I have enjoyed walking around the parliament buildings, especially the library (short squat building to the left of the tower). Unfortunately, they have had scaffolding up & around most of the buildings for the past (5 or 6 years) so much of it has remained inaccessible, but I think they're finally winding down all that mess. The Swiss note is also a lovely add Rob! For 1973 I have this artistic note from Tunisia, P-71 5 Dinars I have no idea why I bid on this 5 Dinars note other than I liked the artsy design. https://en.numista.com/213690 My 2nd note is from the colony of British Honduras P-29c $2.00 which is now Belize: https://en.numista.com/230899

Lovely notes, CollegeBarbers and walk2dwater! I have a British Honduras $1 in the same style as your $2. 1972... One of my favourite banknotes here - the French 10 Francs showing Voltaire, the great 18th-century writer and philosopher, whose comic satire 'Candide' is still widely read today. The portrait is shown on both sides, with a view of the Tulieries in Paris on the front (as Voltaire would have seen it from the window of his Paris apartment) and a view of Voltaire's country home at Cirey on the back. The white circle is actually a watermark with a portrait of Voltaire: it is 37mm in diameter, the same as the silver 10-franc coins issued from 1965-73. These notes bring back many happy memories of holidays and later of working in France. Although superseded by the Berlioz 10F in the mid-1970s, they remained in circulation until 1986.
