For 1945 I have two Dutch notes, 1 gulden (P-70) and 2-1/2 gulden (P-71) "coin notes". They feature a portrait of Queen Wilhelmina, who was queen of the Netherlands from 1890 until her abdication in 1948. She was only 10 when she became queen, though her mother served as regent until Wilhelmina turned 18.

My first note from 1944 is this P-131 200,000,000 Drachmai hyperinflation German-Italian occupation note printed for Greece. : https://en.numista.com/207625My 2nd example is this State Treasury Queen Charlotte P-47 100 Francs from Luxembourg. https://en.numista.com/344154This is one of my first World pick-ups (I may have had about a half dozen notes a decade ago). The reason I bid on it was that it was the first crispy, original looking VF note I had seen without a prefix.

Here are two notes for 1944. First is a Netherlands 25 gulden note, P-60. This note features "The Little Princess", an early 17th century painting by Paulus J. Moreelse, on the face as well as an elaborate geometric design on the reverse. The other is a Netherlands 5 gulden zilverbon (silver voucher, or silver certificate), P-63. Zilverbonnen were notes which could be exchanged for silver coin at the central bank. This note came in 3 different serial number varieties; "No" with the "o" double underlined, "No" with a dot under the "o" (this example), and without "No" before the serial number.

1943 - a faded and creased French 5 Francs: Unlike later French notes depicting historical figures, this wartime series shows typical country folk from different regions of France: a shepherd from the Pyrenees on the front and a woman from Agen on the reverse. It was a very low-value note: under the German occupation no 5-franc coins were issued: a 1941 5F coin with a portrait of Marshall Petain, struck by the Vichy French State, was withdrawn soon after issue and hardly circulated, and it wasn't until 1945 that 5-franc coins were struck again for circulation, but now in aluminium rather than nickel as they had been prior to WW2.

Quote: Here are two notes for 1944. First is a Netherlands 25 gulden note, P-60 Those are really nicely designed notes @hokiefan_82! I have often felt that the Dutch were a bit ahead of their time with banknote designs & the geometrical shapes on the 25 Gulden shows it on the reverse. This note's obverse is historical & its reverse is looking forward into the future! Quote: Unlike later French notes depicting historical figures, this wartime series shows typical country folk from different regions of France: Thanks for the background info Rob! This brings me to my 1943 wartime example. Another low denomination from France, P-100, a 20 Francs: https://en.numista.com/206539It is a very common note: almost everybody on Numista seems to have it (& don't mind swapping), but I like it for the fisherman portrayed on the front (& won't be swapping anytime soon).

Those are some very beautiful Dutch and French banknotes you have there—exactly my taste! I can contribute this 10-guilder note dated 1943: Netherlands - P# 59 - 10 Gulden 1943 (PMG 67 EPQ)
