Thanks, guys!

Nice notes NumisRob, walk2dwater and SchwarzerEinser!

@SchwarzerEinser, I have an example of that 10 gulden note (P-59) which is dated 5-January-1943, but unfortunately mine isn't in nearly as nice condition as your beautful example!

Here's a 50 cent note from the Dutch Indies (Netherlands East Indies), P-110. It features a portrait of Queen Wilhelmina on the face.

More great notes walk2dwater, hokiefan and SchwarzerEinser!
1942 - France 50 Francs:
How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?---With-Banknotes!-Third-Edition
How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?---With-Banknotes!-Third-Edition
The front of the note shows Jacques Coeur, a 15th-century French merchant, banker and councillor, in front of his house in Bourges, which still stands today. On the back is a view of Bourges city and cathedral with a woman spinning thread in the foreground. The white heart-shaped space is a pun on Jacques Coeur's surname, which means 'Heart'. It is where the watermark can be found when you hold the note up to the light.

Really beautiful notes being shown here. It's interesting how this thread has gradually drifted toward the Netherlands and France — but they probably just had the nicest-looking notes in those years.
So today I'd like to offer a counterpoint with German-occupied Ukraine not exactly stunning from a design standpoint, but interesting to me because it's rare to be able to read the inscription on a Ukrainian banknote in German:

Ukraine - P#56 - 200 Karbowanez 1942 (PMG 64)

TBH: I really wanted to start picking up more French notes (like the 1943 example I posted yesterday) but it has been difficult getting them in the grade I want.

Here's an interesting ND overprint of a 1918 2/- note from Malta. It is a little One Shilling P-15:

After I got this note, I read up on the Siege of Malta campaign to wipe out the Maltese people (who fled into caves & the countryside) in order to survive. It was fortunate that they were so resilient as the Allies & troops landed on the island & planned their strategies for the recapturing of nearby Italy. It is hard to imagine that it took the allies 2 years to come to their rescue (& these notes were part of their aid deal).

Fantastic banknotes, everyone! Sorry I've been AWOL. I've been dealing with some persistent health issues.

I have a few examples for 1942, including an Algeria 100 Francs P-85. This banknote has seen better days, but the reverse vignette is still beautiful.

Up next is a 1942 Germany 5 Reichsmark P-186a(2). The obverse features an allegorical youth's head, while the reverse shows a lion monument in front of the Braunschweig cathedral.

Lastly, I had a ND (1942) Philippines 5 Centavos P-103a issued by the Japanese Government. The note is small and plain, like board game money.

Here is a well-worn 10 Guilder note from Japan-occupied, Dutch East Indies that dates to 1942:

Welcome back CB! Hope all is better these days!

It took me ages to get this note b/c I know they're plentiful & originally wanted a graded example but found them all overpriced, so I finally got this ungraded one.

Thx @hok. Here is another well-loved note, this time from 1941 Tunisia (issued by the Bank of Algeria):
