Quote: Nice notes walk2dwater and NumisRob! -Thanks @hokiefan_82 Quote: My own collection gets a bit patchy in the 1930s... 1932 - a very ugly French 10 Francs.. Quote:Very nice! with jbuck (at least you got something from 1932) As far as "patchy goes" I won't be able to contribute until we get into the 1920's so I'm really patchy too (from here until my oldest note).

Hasn't anybody got any notes for 1931? I have two for 1930 but none for 1931.

I've got a few notes on their way to me, and one of those is a 1931-dated note. Hopefully they'll be here quickly...

I also found a 1931 note. If everyone is okay with it, I'd prefer to wait until hokiefan_82's note has arrived as well. I don't want to cut in line, and a day or two won't matter here. That way, we'll get to see more than one note.

That's kind of you, SchwarzerEinser! I just checked the tracking, and my note should arrive tomorrow. As soon as I get it, I'll get it scanned and share it!

Fine by me! I would rather wait to see two than get just the one now.

Let's get the ball rolling again! Fresh from my mailbox, here is a 1000 dinara note from Yugoslavia, P-29, dated Dec 1, 1931. This is a huge note - it's about 7-3/4" wide and 5" tall. It features a portrait of Maria, Queen Consort of Yugoslavia. She was married to King Alexander I in 1922 and was queen until Alexander's assassination in 1934 in Marseille, France.

Wow, what a beauty! It was definitely worth the wait. My note isn't quite as impressive, but still — a 1931!

Nice example, SchwarzerEinser! I find it interesting that the serial number is printed a total of five times, and on both sides of the note.

Great notes hokiefan and SchwarzerEinser! Good to have the topic moving again! 1930... Starting with a Hungarian 100-Pengo note. The Pengo was a relatively short-lived denomination that finished in catastrophic hyper-inflation in the mid-1940s, to be replaced by the Forint, which is still in use today. The portrait on the front of the note is of King Matthias I who ruled Hungary and Croatia from 1458 to 1490. The reverse of the note shows Pest Castle in Budapest: Also from 1930 is this Bank of England One Pound Note. The Series A design was used from 1928 until 1960, but this one can be dated to 1930 by the serial and the Chief Cashier's signature, B G Catterns. The reverse of the note shows two gold sovereigns with the Pistrucci 'St George' design, and a street-level view of the Bank of England building in Threadneedle Street, London:
