The angle of the front curl of Lincoln's hair, the gouges near the mint mark, and the die chip on the left wheat stalk above the "U" of UNITED caught my eye. I hesitate to ask this, but are we sure this coin is genuine?

I agree! None of the 6 dies have that mintmark position/angle!

Just looking at the OP picture it seems to have a metal scrape area and a bit of extra metal build up where it doesn't belong.

When I first looked at the coin, the color seemed off. A lot of the Chinese fakes have a dark brown color. Flying Eagle, Indian Head and Wheat Cents have all been copied for key dates. I wish they had to designate them as copies.
