Quote: Are they painted? No. They are anodized aluminum with a slightly different finishing process to yield different colors. You can often also find red and green aluminum medals and tokens.

Here's another ANA anodized aluminum medal - this time in red! It is from the ANA's 1983 Annual Convention in San Diego, California. It was distributed by Coin World at the Convention.
