I was given this yesterday and thought I would share it since it seems to be a relatively uncommon item. I have also included a few links to explain the somewhat vague history of these a bit (I had no idea these were even a thing until yesterday). Feel free to post images of ones you may have!

I'm not sure what kind of collecting "niche" that would fall on. This is more like the US Mint trying to squeeze every cent out of currency they can.
I know one thing - don't set that on your couch then tell your friends to "have a seat".

Well that is interesting - at first I was thinking what a thermometer was doing in the paper money forum.

@ Marv, from what the third link says, it was some third party that made these. Not the BEP. Someone decided to be creative with waste material.

@Dearborn, I wasn't quite sure what the best forum to put this in was, feel free to move it elsewhere if needed. This one seemed to be the closest match.

Oh, Ok, kind of like a "Late night Idea" that was sure to make a few people rich. I mean the "Pet Rock" was already proven to make people Impulsive buyers - but this seems a far fetched idea.
I'm impressed by their persistence!
If these were all "Sweet and Sugary cakes" instead of pressed paper thermometers they may have sold out !
