$67. #6 of 40 acquired recently. Recently I purchased 40 slabbed Morgan dollars (36 ANACS, 3 PCGS and 1 ICG) and will post one a day alongside one Peace dollar. I paid an average of $67 for the 40 coins. This time I will post the grade of the coin 2 days after and this time we can compare our grades with those of TPGs. Thoughts? Thanks!

Nice looking but not seeing reflective fields in the pictures - I'd go a 64+ for eye appeal.

There is obverse and reverse cabinet rub here, not enough to call it AU, but enough to be noticed. The contact marks on the cheek are consistent with MS-64. There are other small marks scattered in the devices, such as the eye, cap curl, hair over the ears, and lower curls. They aren't distracting, but they are there. The reverse is solid, and not far from MS-65. I can't gauge whether this is prooflike from the photos, but I wouldn't be surprised with that designation.

Balancing the cabinet rub, contact marks, and the reverse carbon spot, I see MS-64 here, possibly PL. Without either the cabinet rub or the carbon spot, I could see MS-64+ on this coin, again possibly with a PL designation.

Nice coin, and right in there with the the generally nice coins for this date.

This is an interesting coin. Looking at it under a regular light, it doesn't look like it has dark fields and frosted devices, but under bright focused lighting, it looks spectacular. I think this is a coin that has off the chart eye appeal but there is chatter in the cheek that is pretty pronounced and can be seen in the photos in the OP. In my opinion, this coin is a 64 but on the lower end based on the cheek chatter, so undergraded but not by a lot. The eye appeal makes it a coin that I am very happy to own. The fields and the strike are just beautiful jmho.

this year are known for sharp strikes. this one is right there.
luster looks broken across the cheek and in my book that precludes a 64 grade.

the grade is correct
