I had the notion that I might assemble a folder of all 50 statehood proof quarters this year. The blank Whitman folder only has 43 slots. Other quarter folders have the double P/D slots.

Is there such a thing as a proof-only Statehood Quarter folder? Barring that, are there basic quarter folders that have 50+ slots?

Dansco makes a date set album with 58 openings for one state/territory quarter per year.

Use a Dansco. I have the date set album for just that, all proof clad State Quarters. Consists of 3 pages.

They also make simple date set folders. I think HE Harris makes one, and I'm sure some others do as well.

While I appreciate how much you guys appreciate Dansco albums, I don't think I could bring myself to spend more on the album than I do on all 50 coins. =P

I will check out the date set folders, that's a great suggestion.

I guess I was lucky. I found the Dansco "date set" album at a coin shop for around 20 bucks.

I quite like it. This is what mine looks like:
Folder-For-50-State-Quarters,-Only-Proofs?
Folder-For-50-State-Quarters,-Only-Proofs?

Clad proofs only. Beautiful coins in proof as well. The regular business strikes don't really do it for me.

Please, please, please do not put proof coins in a folder. They belong in an album.

Here is an economical solution...

Ruined by what specifically? Touching? Air exposure? Moisture?

That's an excellent album. Wizard wants to charge for USPS Priority at $11, but I am doing some more searching for it. Identical albums on ebay seem to run about $25.

mostly by touching and the possibility of the coins coming into contact with each other on opposite facing pages if folded wrong. ..

I suppose that's a danger of any open-air folder.

The back of the coin touching the folder material is one issue. Usually the glue that holds it to the cardboard is applied to the whole sheet. Nothing to protect to front of the coin for incidental contact is another; for example, coin on coin crime when you fold it.

Sounds like even with shipping, Wizard is cheaper. Maybe they have some other things you want to make the $11 worth it? I usually order more than one thing at a time just for that reason.
