Hello everyone!, my name is Dave.
I'm from Columbus, Ohio. Anyone else from the area?

I joined to learn more about what I have. I actually collected coins when I was younger, roughly between the ages of 9 and 16.

During that time, I was taken advantage of here in Columbus, Ohio, specifically around Sawmill Road and Bethel.
In the early 1990s, I used to spend a lot of time at the arcade at Sawmill Lanes. Like any kid back then, I wanted more quarters to play, so I made a decision I didn't understand at the time.
I sold a one-ounce solid gold bullion bar that my aunt had given me.....for ten dollars.

The shop was located near the Carriage Place movie theater, a few businesses to the right. If anyone remembers a coin shop or hobby shop in that location during the early '90s, I'd love to hear from you. The owner bought that gold bar from a 9-year-old kid for $10, without asking if I'd talked to my parents or questioning it at all.

If anyone happens to know who owned or worked at that shop back then, I'd honestly love the chance to speak with him today, even if just for a conversation and a laugh about it now.

That's a little about me. Thanks for keeping the vintage forum alive, I really love it. Glad to be here.

Over and out.

@synacknetwork - - from far to the north and over the border.
Yes, some of the LCS certainly took advantage of the naive sellers, and some still do.
