Hi everyone this is Matt again
does anyone know where this coin is from ?
it says on it napoleon III empereur 1855 and on the back of the coin it says empire francais dix centimes

First, thank you for posting this thread in the world coin subforum as that is indeed where it belongs. Second, the above inscription contains both the country in which it was minted as well as the denomination. Even if you aren't interested in learning a little french, you will very quickly find your coin by using these four words as keywords in the search function over on numista:

It is from the country we today call "France". It was called "France" back in 1855 too, but back then it was an Empire, rather than a Republic. Napoleon III was the nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte, also known as Emperor Napoleon I of France.

The French Empire lasted until 1870, when France started and then lost a war against Prussia, after which the Bonapartist movement lost all credibility. France has been a Republic ever since then.

It's in well above average condition for these coins, which circulated until the early 1920s. The 'K' mintmark indicates that it was struck in Bordeaux.
