I have posted before here, but I just found this forum category.

I like collecting coins because it gives me purpose, something to kill time other than sitting on my phone all day when it's boring.

My collection is rookie, very small and not of note; I don't even have a single wheatie yet!

Also, advice on finding coins would be appreciated (I prefer not to buy coins unless needed)

When I collect, I try taking care of my coins but as long as I can tell what it is and I never intended on selling it, it's okay if it's a bit dirty or scratched up.

I've been searching through rolls to find one, though the bank only lets me take $1 at a time sadly.

I'm also from Florida and relatively new here.

I also suffer from the compulsion to find coins versus buy them, not sure what illness this is but I have it too.

I do CRH (coin roll hunting) quite a bit, it's a fun way to find occasional older coins. I found a silver dime in a roll yesterday. If you can develop a good relationship with your bank tellers they often have no problem selling you full boxes of rolls of any denominations you want. Some will even order boxes of half dollars for you from Loomis. That all depends on you having an account open with them, of course.

That may only be enforced with the cents (pennies) try picking up rolls of nickels. With nickels one could find most years and mints to have a complete collection in no time at all. Also able to upgrade to nicer nickels as you find them. Good luck and have fun.
