Been awhile since my last 2 contests ran simultaneously with little/0 entrants. Hopefully this one will fare better. This contest is being run in appreciation of the knowledge I gained while being a member and in appreciation of my trading partners. Must have 50 posts to enter and MUST have a U.S. shipping address to send to. I have never, and am too old to learn the ropes for shipping out of the U.S. I will gladly ship to a friend, family member, or forum member on your behalf if you should win and live outside the U.S. as long as I'm shipping to a U.S. address. One entry per contest period. If you are a forum member and have purchased from me once, you get a 2nd entry. If you have done business with me more than once, you get 3 entries. According to my records: Jerryc39 3 entries drdn 3 entries HondoB 3 entries NorthshoreMA 3 enties BH1964 3 entries Histman 3 entries MorgansDad 3 entries NSS-52 2 enties coin rejector 2 entries mint_marq 2 entries chute 72 2 entries Bump111 2 entries DanFielding 2 entries NumisEd 2 entries machine20 2 entries coinnewcomer1 2 entries Every other qualified member gets 1 entry The Prize! All I'll tell you is that it's all mostly modern but there is silver! The Contest: 9 1/2 years ago I purchased this complete run of proof sets from 1968 thru 2011. Your mission is to guess what my net cost of this collection was There was NO tax paid. I am looking for A-B=C A=price paid including shipping, B= ebay Bucks received, C= net cost. Knowledge of the ebay Bucks program will be helpful. A correct entry will look similar to this: $1000.00 -$20.00 = $980.00 (example only). Anybody that comes within $5 of the correct net cost "C", will advance to the elimination round where closest to "B" will be the winner, (and "A" if need be as a tiebreaker). I recommend that if you have never utilized the ebay Bucks program, that you ask around and study up before entering. Everybody's entry needs to be different. If a duplicate entry is posted, only first will be recognized. ((((((( No editing of your post (guess). However, I will allow you to submit one (1) change after Feb 4th midnight forum time. Just make a new reply stating that you would like to change your guess and what you want to change it to))))) I may drop a helpful hint or two along the way before Feb 4th midnight that might make you want to change your guess. Good Luck! Edited by ratman4762 01/29/2026 10:49 pm

Thanks for this interesting and invigorating contest and I'm glad I started buying on the "bay" in 2013. Best of luck everyone. My guess will be: $309.00 - 30.09 = $270.10 (Maybe you got a double ebay bucks promotion though? )

Helpful tip #1....Ebay Bucks Program was 2% "Cash Back" so to speak, on your purchase price on every qualifying item. That was the Base Percentage. They would periodically run specials of 2X, 3X, etc that would last for a couple of days. Later the Base Percentage was dropped to 1% and then 0% (with the claim that they would run special events where you could get ebay Bucks...I don't ever remember seeing one of those)..I DID receive ebay Bucks with this purchase that is the contest.
