I think FDR poketh a hole in that meme when he prohibited gold ownership in the U.S. in 1933.

Frankly, I think that it was those who hath the sword that maketh the rules. That escalated to those who hath the guns maketh the rules. Now it is those who hath the weapons of mass destruction maketh the rules.

In essence, gold can give you some advantages, but often it makes you a target for those with more firepower.

For multibillionaire oligarchs, those who buyeth the most influence maketh the rules. Those people rely on electrons in electronic ledgers, not gold to store their wealth. That's the 21st century for ya.

The US has the most gold and the most fire power. So I won't be worried:
