I'm not a currency guy.
He's a little rough.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Asking for a friend.
Thank you!

Appears to be a genuine Confederate blueback to me.

When testing authenticity of CSA notes, the first stop must be one of those places that "list all the fakes" by serial number. If the number is on the list, then the note is a replica. I always use the Crutchfields' Currency list as I believe it's the oldest and best-maintained. 1864 $10 number 46833 is not on the list, so we're good there.

The second thing to look for is ink rust. These notes were hand-signed, using a quill pen and iron gall ink or some similar ink. Iron-based ink "rusts" over time, turning brown and bleeding through to the back of a thin piece of paper. So I would expect to see mirror-reversed images of the signatures on the back of the note - and this is indeed what we see, most notably in the lower-left of the note.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Thanks Sap!
Like I said, I'm not a currency guy...but I do like to look at this part of the forum to try and learn.
Once you mentioned the "list all the fakes"...I remembered that being brought up, but because I don't dabble on this side...I didn't bookmark the source.
I have it now!
Thanks again!

I really do appreciate all the replies...
This is not my note and I really don't want it because I'm not a currency guy.
If my friend went to a shop/LCS to sell this...
What should she expect the offer to be?
She has 2 other sisters that want to know.
