The SB 60 "coin flip" used a 2015 Paris Mint restrike of the Libertas Americana medal which was modified by the US Mint. The NFL owns the medal and plans to donate it to the Smithsonian after the game: " Even a clock that's stopped is right twice a day. "

I saw that. Very cool coin. I hope it didn't get too many scratches.

Leave it to the idiots at the NFL to see a need to engrave "heads" and "tails" on the medal. . .were they afraid the referee wouldn't be able to tell the difference ? Laughable.

Well to be fair there are three heads and only one tail on the "tails" side of the coin. Here is a random question for the hive mind. Anyone know if this is the first year that the NFL has done something like this?

Funny thing about that coin. I was going to run the coin through ChatGPT but because of the naked baby it would not comply to any prompts.

I noticed it during the coin flip last night. It would be nice if these were made available to collectors.

Quote: Well one side had a 'head' and the other side had several 'Heads' Aha! That means the designation is wrong. The single head side should be "Tails". Why? Because upon the coin toss, team captains always say, "HEADS!"

Quote: hopefully it was flipped in a flip Dearborn, I was thinking the same thing when it was flipped, but it didn't appear it was from what I could tell. And then they left it on the ground afterwards and the players and attendees were walking all around it before finally someone picked it up... First thing that went through my mind was "well, it's probably a details coin now"
