The commemorative would feature the same design as the 1926 $2.50 gold commemorative, with a female allegorical depiction of liberty on the obverse and the Independence Hall on the reverse. The bill also authorizes a feasibility study for a circulating $2.50 coin, which would mark the first coin with a face value of over $1 issued for circulation since 1933.
