I have a 1943 steel penny that looks more unique than my many other 1943 pennies. This coin is a copper color in many spots and it does stick to a magnet. I'm sure everyone is going to say it's just rust, which may be very true. The fact that I have a handful of other pennies that are copper and have the same color as my 1943 Steel penny is making me question is this coin made out of other material. Even though my 1943 penny stick to a magnet and has striking copper features I still want to be certain that it's not rare.

It looks like the 1964 cent here was plated at some point. And your 1943 Steel cent appears like plating is wearing off leaving the steel exposed to rust.
