I've been working on my photography skills for 10 years now and I enjoy it more than actually collecting. Finally, I have achieved images that look exactly how I wanted with crystal clear detail and accurate colour straight out of the camera. Sharing for fun!

Your work has made some nice pictures. Well done. Coins are hard to photograph to show actual color and definition. The coins I photograph don't really show what the coins really look like in person. My old Sony camera takes good pictures but leaves out the real luster and color of the coin.

Having just embarked on my coin photography journey, I can appreciate the skill and patience required to take such nice pictures. The images look great! =)
Could you share the camera settings and lighting setup that produced those images?

Very nice.. I'm curious. Are you saying those images are unedited in any way?

That's right. Just cropped and added a shadow. No other editing.

Tell us your secret. I still have a hard time taking great pictures with my cellphone.

First, thanks everyone for the comments!!
As for the how/secrets, it's about 80% trial and error (see title) and 20% reading the threads about cheap lenses and sub-$400 set ups. There's not secret sauce, just finding a combination of lights, stands, lenses, and settings that work for what you're trying to accomplish. The Ray that provided so much of the advice on those threads has no idea how helpful he's been, but I couldn't have done it without his commentary.

Great to see your efforts have ended in success. The photos really do look great, museum-level quality. Also nice to know my advice here has been useful...Ray
