So, we have a nice competition beginning for the top of the podium. But - we are only 3 rounds into a 10 round contest. It's still anyone's game at this point. Recall what I said in the rules: Quote: •Be mindful this is a multi-round cumulative points contest so if you find yourself falling behind in the early rounds well then sharpen up your guesses and score some bonus points! Round 4 will start later today

There seemed to be some thinking amongst the players that the container sizes for the first 3 rounds were somehow similar in size. I included an 'everyday object' in each photo to provide scale - but apparently that was not an effective visual method for you to gauge relative size. I attribute the generally low Round 3 guesses to this 'container size' confusion. So .... to clarify ... here are the (now empty) first 3 containers all lined up in one photo. I assure you .. the upcoming Round 4 container relative size should be obvious.

Good day nickelsearcher, I agree with your new rule.
Thank you for having these wonderful contests.
I will never use the manner of calculating my guess again - I added all the scores posted at the time of my proposed guess ,devided by the number of contestants and came up with the average: 307. no sir, never gain!!.
Thanks again and have a GREAT day!

A little bit of history about the Round 4 object. This is a Calabash Bowl that I turned from Cherry on my home shop lathe. This traditional round bottom bowl originated in Africa thousands of years ago where it was made from the bottom of a gourd plant. Its use spread across the world over time. The shape of the bowl is ideal for holding food when eating on uneven surfaces such as the ground. The bowl can rock back and forth but does not tip over. My calabash bowl resides in my wood shop where it normally holds various gloves. For Round 4 - it was filled with nickels.

I want to share some contest prep info to be sure everyone understands the great care that was taken in counting the nickels for each container. Here I am (pre-surgery) counting the nickels as I fill the Calabash bowl. You can see my tally sheet where every 10 nickels into the bowl gets a tick mark. I ask @loonie to look very carefully to see if you can find any filler materials being used. I have the white photo background set up on my work bench, with Canon Rebel T7 camera on a tripod. My laptop is open to process the camera memory card images. And that is how it went for all 10 containers. Best of wishes to the Players for your Round 4 guesses!

Well, the scale size of relativness was interesting to see side by side... Means I was way off on my guess like most players, so I will guess this round: 685
