Hey nickelsearcher, how's the elbow doing? Thanks for asking. I've had some challenges but slowly healing. I've recovered enough from the 2nd surgery to use both hands to type. Still wearing a full arm brace locked at 90 degrees at the elbow to prevent any elbow motion. I can however still do many things using only my left arm - such as grilling.   The issue is fighting off the infection that ruined the first surgery. I've seen two infection doctors so far, and the visit yesterday gave me hope that we have a plan to get this under control. Best doctor guess is that I'm 3 to 4 months away from 'normal' use of my right arm. Then I can return to my woodworking life and teaching. Truly looking forward to that.  In the meantime - we need two more players to check in with their Round 3 guesses.  Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art |

I'm asking for the players views on my minimum 1 day notification rule to close any round. Quote:
Each round will last minimum one week in duration unless I determine in my sole judgement that guesses have stopped and give minimum 1 day notification that the round will be closing. My thinking when I established that rule was that we might have some new players straggle in at the end of a round. That has not been the case. And as we near the end of Round 3 all the players have again given a valid guess well ahead of the original Monday 4/27 deadline. So, to me, it seems this rule is causing a lot of unnecessary downtime between rounds. In the spirit of keeping the contest moving along without contrived dead time between rounds, I'm thinking about rescinding the 1 day notification rule. I propose to change it with the following rule: All Rounds will be scheduled for 1-week duration but will close when, in my sole judgement, all of the ongoing players have given a guess.
