What is the damage on this one?
it is already in rough shape, but that line caught my eye.

It's a lamination. They are fairly common on the wartime nickels, but fun to find!

Yep, agreed. Lamination. That 35% silver alloy mixed poorly for the mint, but it leads to some visually interesting problems in the planchets. Nice find. =)

Nice lamination on a war time silver nickel - too bad it looks like it was slightly sanded flat on the high points.
