Wow. That is an amazing pick-up. I'm generally against slabbing ancient coins but have a made a couple exceptions in my collection for the more spendy items. This coin qualifies as that.

to the CCF I know very little about ancient coins - but I can see this is a real beauty.

Congrats, very sweet. I don't have one. My uncle had one mounted in a gold ring but sold it before he died. Keep it slabbed. I prefer to hold ancient coins raw in my hand which does not harm them. I don't like lower priced slabbed ancients but pricey ones okay and good to slab, my opinion.

I don't collect ancient coins but enjoy seeing other's great acquisitions, particular the gold coins. Beautiful example, thanks for sharing!

Anything worth that much, I'd rather have it slabbed and protected. Congrats!

I'd prefer it unslabbed, but the slab does no harm, and since you can easily remove it anytime, there seems no urgency to do so.

Out of curiosity I reviewed a few completed auctions for this coin and found several NGC certified AU examples that sold well north of $10,000. Personally, that qualifies as an expensive coin. I'd leave it in the slab.

Thank goodness it was finally slabbed.I mean it only survived for over 2000 years in its delicate unprotected state

Thanks everyone for the congrats and I've decided to just leave it slabbed. Even though I have the itch to hold it haha. It's amazing how something this old can stay in this condition.
