Put a magnet on your 68 dime, some of them were struck in 50% silver. Also a nice start to your Canadian collection.

Jbuck you are just full of surprises, when do you find time to do your day job. Oh sorry I forgot this is your day job.

Quote: Jbuck, come to my home town of Ottawa, and I'll give you free upgrades for quite a few of those! I will keep that in mind if I ever et up that way. By the way, the dimes came from circulation when I lived in Washington state from 1978 to 1980. Quote: The dollars are good though. All thanks to loonielewy.

Very nice. I see you said some are from Washington state when you used to live there. I was glad that I grew up near the Canadian border and my grandfather had laundromats. I made a decision to collect Canadian coins when I was young because I saw so many of them.
I remember when first starting college in South Carolina, that I happen to have a Canadian nickel in my pocket with a bunch of other change. I handed the change to the person behind the counter at a local RadioShack. They picked it out, looked at it, strange, and asked, "what is this?" when finding out it was a Canadian nickel, the reply came of, "Sorry, we do not accept foreign currency here." That was probably the first time in my life that it actually hit me that Canadian coinage was technically foreign! Of course, I kicked myself for not thinking of it before, but it was just such a part of daily life. I hadn't even given it a thought ever.

Thank you. That is an interesting story! Knowing where you went for school, for some reason I am envisioning this in a Radio Shack at one of the malls... Greenville, Haywood, or McAllister square.

Gotcha, I was referencing the expediency the loonie pics garnered.

Time for a batch of Canada 25 Cents. These are not the best, but they are mine. They are vending machine rejects from living up north way back in the day, expect the 1984, which I got in change further south.
